Bulk Edit Shopify Order Note Attributes with Airtable
In Shopify, an order can carry extra key-value fields called note attributes. They are added by your theme at checkout, by apps, or by your team in the admin, and hold things like a gift message, a requested delivery date, or a referral source. Note attributes are separate from the order’s main Note field, which is a single free-form text note.
The Shopify admin shows note attributes one order at a time. For fulfillment, reporting, or fulfilling personalization requests in bulk, having the values trapped inside each order page slows the team down.
AirPower maps each note attribute to its own Airtable column. When orders sync from Shopify, the matching value lands in the right column, so every gift message, delivery preference, or custom field is readable at a glance across the whole orders table.
Order notes is available for Orders in Shopify → Airtable syncs. The pane is also visible in the Draft Orders configuration, but note attribute syncing is only processed for Orders on the backend.
Set up Shopify → Airtable
- Open a Shopify → Airtable sync
- Go to Data & fields
- Click Orders
- Select an Airtable table
- Open Order notes
- Click + Add note attribute
- Enter the note attribute name exactly as it appears in Shopify
- Select or create the Airtable column
- Click Save sync
Repeat steps 6–8 for each additional note attribute.
Note attribute names
Note attribute names must match the exact keys Shopify uses. For attributes added by checkout or apps, use the exact key as it appears in the Shopify order, including casing and spacing.
What you’ll see after saving
Each mapped note attribute appears in its own Airtable column. When orders sync from Shopify, each mapped column is filled with the corresponding note attribute value from the order.
