Collection fields you can edit in Airtable
Manual and smart collections land in the same Airtable table. Most fields can be changed there and sent back to Shopify. Add only the ones you need.

From Shopify to Airtable and back
Two Syncs do the work. One brings your collections in and keeps them current. The other sends your edits to Shopify.
-
Bring your collections in
Add Collections to a Shopify to Airtable Sync and save it. Manual and smart collections both download into your table, each with its Shopify ID.
-
Edit in bulk
Rewrite descriptions, swap images, change sort order, or tick channel checkboxes across a filtered view. To change which products are in a collection, edit the linked Collections field on your product rows.

Rows with a Shopify ID update their collection. Rows without one become new collections, as long as they have a title, and AirPower writes the new ID back.
Link Products and Collections. To add or remove products, put Products and Collections on the same Airtable to Shopify Sync, each on its own table, with linked-record fields between them. AirPower can create the link fields when you save the Sync. How it works
Shopify admin or Airtable for collections
Shopify's bulk editor and CSV files already handle some collections edits. Here is what changes when you work in Airtable.
| Task | In the Shopify admin | In Airtable with AirPower |
|---|---|---|
| Import or export a file | Shopify's CSV import and export cover products, customers, and inventory, but not collections. | Every collection is a row in one Airtable table, ready to sort, filter, and edit. |
| Bulk actions | Bulk actions on the Collections page make collections available, make them unavailable, or delete them. | Titles, descriptions, sort order, images, and sales channels are columns you edit across any number of rows. |
| Products in each collection | A product CSV export doesn't include the Collection column. | Manual collection membership syncs through linked Products and Collections tables, both ways. |

Collection questions
More answers in the help center, or email team@airpowersync.com.
Can I create new collections from Airtable?
Yes. A row without a Shopify ID becomes a new collection when you sync, as long as it has a title. AirPower then writes the new Shopify ID back into the row.
How do I add products to a collection in bulk?
Edit the linked Collections field on your product rows, then sync. AirPower adds and removes products in Shopify to match the links. Products and Collections must both be on the Sync, on linked tables. Step-by-step guide
Does this work for smart collections?
Smart collections come into Airtable next to manual ones, and you can edit their title, description, image, sort order, and channels. Their product rules stay in Shopify, so adding or removing products from Airtable applies to manual collections. A collection's type can't be changed after it is created.
Can I publish collections to sales channels in bulk?
Yes. In the Publishing card, send each channel from a checkbox column. Tick or untick boxes on any number of rows, then sync to publish or unpublish.
