From Shopify to Airtable and back
Two Syncs do the work. One brings your catalog in and keeps it current. The other sends your edits to Shopify.
-
Bring your catalog in
Add Products and Variants to a Shopify to Airtable Sync and save it. Every product downloads into your tables, and changes made in Shopify keep arriving on their own.
-
Edit in bulk
Filter a view, then paste, fill down, find and replace, or drive prices from a formula across hundreds of rows.
-
Click Sync now
Rows with a Shopify ID update their product. Rows without one become new products, and AirPower writes the new ID back.
One table or two. Keep variants on their own linked table when products come in sizes or colors, or on the same row as the product if each product has a single variant. Compare the layouts
Shopify admin or Airtable for products
Shopify's bulk editor and CSV files already handle some products edits. Here is what changes when you work in Airtable.
| Task | In the Shopify admin | In Airtable with AirPower |
|---|---|---|
| Import changes from a file | A product CSV import can't be canceled once it starts, and blank cells in optional columns overwrite existing values as blank. | Only the columns you add to the Sync are sent, so fields you leave out stay as they are. You review every change in Airtable before clicking Sync now. |
| Collections | A product CSV export doesn't include the Collection column. | Collection membership syncs on linked Products and Collections tables. See Collections. |
| Keep the catalog current | A CSV export is a snapshot of the moment you download it. | Changes made in Shopify keep arriving in Airtable on their own. |

Product questions
More answers in the help center, or email team@airpowersync.com.
Can I create new products from Airtable?
Yes. A row without a Shopify ID becomes a new product when you sync, as long as it has a title. AirPower then writes the new Shopify ID back into the row.
Do variants need their own table?
No. Use separate, linked Products and Variants tables when products come in sizes or colors. If each product has a single variant, keep both on one row. On a single row you only see the first variant.
Can I change status and sales channels in bulk?
Yes. Status is a regular field, and each sales channel, such as Online Store or Point of Sale, syncs to a checkbox column. Change any number of rows, then sync.
Can I sync only some products?
Yes. For Airtable to Shopify, choose an Airtable view and only its rows are sent. On the Plus plan, filters decide which Shopify products come into Airtable, for example by tag or vendor.
