From Shopify to Airtable and back
Two Syncs do the work. One brings your customers in and keeps them current. The other sends your edits to Shopify.
-
Bring your customers in
Add Customers to a Shopify to Airtable Sync and save it. Every customer downloads into your table, and new customers and profile changes made in Shopify keep arriving on their own.
-
Edit in bulk
Filter a view by tag, spend, or order count, then paste, fill down, or find and replace across hundreds of rows.

Rows with a Shopify ID update their customer. Rows without one become new customers, and AirPower writes the new ID back.
Add an email or phone. Send Email or Phone from Airtable before you create customers there, so each new row reaches Shopify with a way to identify the customer. Customer setup guide
Shopify admin or Airtable for customers
Shopify's bulk editor and CSV files already handle some customers edits. Here is what changes when you work in Airtable.
| Task | In the Shopify admin | In Airtable with AirPower |
|---|---|---|
| Phone numbers and other fields | The bulk editor covers names, tags, marketing consent, and metafields. Phone numbers and address lines need one-by-one edits or a CSV import. | Email, names, phone, tags, notes, and metafields are columns you edit in bulk. |
| Import over existing customers | Overwriting customers with a CSV import replaces all of their data, including tags. | Only the columns you add to the Sync are sent, so everything else stays as it is. |
| Orders and spend | A customer CSV can't carry order information. | Each customer links to their orders on a linked Orders table, with total spent and order count on the row. |

Customer questions
More answers in the help center, or email team@airpowersync.com.
Can I create new customers from Airtable?
Yes. A row without a Shopify ID becomes a new customer when you sync. AirPower then writes the new Shopify ID back into the row. Send Email or Phone from Airtable so each new customer can be identified.
Which customer fields can I change?
Email, first name, last name, phone, tags, and note. Customer metafields can be sent back too. Marketing consent, addresses, and spend totals come into Airtable as read only.
Can I see each customer's orders and total spend?
Yes. Total spent and orders count come in as fields. Add Orders to the same Sync and each customer row links to its orders, so you can roll up totals in Airtable. Build a Shopify CRM
Can I sync only some customers?
Yes. For Airtable to Shopify, choose an Airtable view and only its rows are sent. On the Plus plan, filters decide which Shopify customers come into Airtable, for example by tag or marketing consent.
